As we start gearing up for Turkey Trot 2015, it seems appropriate to look back on 2014. We are happy to announce that the 2014 Turkey Trot raised over $28,000 for the Occupational Therapy (OT) department of Spectrum Academy to meet the sensory and motor needs of our students! With this outstanding fundraising total, the OT department has been able to fulfill its wish list of occupational therapy equipment with the goal of helping students improve their academic performance, peer interactions and behavioral challenges. A sampling of the purchased items includes: a large variety of seating options (ErgoErgo, Runtz, Wobble and cube chairs), moon & cuddle swings, vestibular boards, punching bag, and noise-canceling headphones. Our OT professionals and teachers have already seen a difference in our students’ success! Additionally, all teachers should look for sensory boxes coming soon to meet the basic needs in the classroom.
The 2014 Turkey Trot...drum roll, please...raised over $28,000 for Spectrum Academy to meet the sensory and motor needs of our students! Thanks to those of you who came out to support the race. Your participation has made a difference in the lives of our 1000 students and their families!

They are a facility located in Clinton, Utah doing clinical research studies for various conditions. When you volunteer for a research study all meds, medical treatment, blood work, ECG are all free to patients. They compensate all qualified patients for their time and cost to travel for participation. Some studies could pay up to $10,000 a year.
Treatments will vary from medications that are already on the market and available to medications that have just come out of the lab in a trial period.
They are very proud of what we do, and the new treatments we can offer for diseases that don't have treatments currently on the market. They also pride ourselves in Patient Care. The patient always comes first.
Their current research studies are; Autism, Depression (kids and adults), ADHD (kids), Diabetes, Asthma, Bipolar (kids), Influenza, and Sprains or Strain (shoulder joints, knee, elbow, wrist, ankle). They also have studies for High cholesterol with fish oil supplements.
Please feel free to come see or call them for more information. They are excited to talk to anyone and answer any questions.
