We have an exciting new addition to our raffle! Our sponsor, the Autism Assessment and Treatment Center of CPS is offering 50 certificates for free sessions of art therapy!
Art Therapy is a therapeutic intervention designed to allow people of all abilities to build skills that are geared toward optimal development. Anger management, impulse control, study skills development, friendship, time and task management, and self-esteem are just some of the issues explored through art expression. During the session, your child will engage in a fun art project of their choice that will not only allow them nonverbal and verbal expression, but also a tangible reminder of their accomplishments. Moreover, children on the Autisic Spectrum benefit from art therapy sessions in that they can express their experience relating to the world with the guidance of a compassionate and understanding therapist.
Jessica Noël Berry received her Masters in Art Therapy from New York University. Jessica’s experience includes inpatient, outpatient and community-oriented programs with people of all ages. She has designed and facilitated individual and group therapy nationally and internationally. She has worked for the Jewish Guild for the Blind as well as for the Rebecca Association for Autism in Manhattan.
